ARCHIE wins big at Celebrate Aberdeen Awards 2019
We recently attended the brilliant Celebrate Aberdeen Awards and were thrilled to take home two huge awards.
The event, hosted at the P&J Live on Saturday 15th September, celebrated the contribution charities make to thousands of lives across Grampian.
The ARCHIE Foundation won Large Organisation of the Year for the second year in a row, highlighting the important work we do in both the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and North East area.
Our amazing Fundraising Officer Emily Findlay also picked up the award for Young Supporter of the Year for the amazing work she has done, not just for ARCHIE, but for other brilliant causes in the area.
To top it all off, we had the wonderful Evan Christie as a finalist for Fundraiser of the Year. Although he didn’t win, we couldn’t be more proud and thankful of Evan. With the help of family and friends, 11 year old Evan raised £10,000 for Friends of the Neonatal Unit.
He presented the cheque the day before his 10th birthday, £1,000 for every year of his life; as a tremendous gesture of thanks to the Unit that helped save his life when he was born prematurely a decade earlier.
The awards ceremony followed on from the Celebrate Aberdeen Weekend, which took place at the end of August
Team members and supporters of The ARCHIE Foundation, including that of Friends of Neo, were proud to a parade down the Union Street and joined in with the festivities at various venues across the city centre.
