The Graham Trust 2026 Funding
The Archie Foundation is super excited to announce the continued support of The Graham Trust, who have agreed to contribute towards the running costs of Archie’s Family Centre in 2026.
This contribution will directly support the Archie Family Centre within Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital – an essential facility that allows families to remain close to their child during hospital treatments, whether for a planned stay or an emergency.
Many of the families we support travel great distances from rural and island communities. For them, access to free, high-quality accommodation is not only a comfort, but a lifeline during an incredibly stressful and emotional time.
The Archie Family Centre has 19 en-suite rooms within Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, providing free accommodation so parents can be close to their sick child 24/7. This essential service not only offers parents a place to stay before and after their child’s surgery or procedure, but also a haven for families with children facing lengthy treatments for cancers and other life-threatening conditions. Parents of terminally ill children can also use our accommodation, to be close to their child during their final moments.
The aims of Archie’s Family Centre are simple, offer parents from all socio-economic backgrounds, free emergency accommodation, keeping families together while their child is in hospital, ensure worried parents’ mental health is catered for during their stay, by offering free counselling, guidance and a sympathetic ear in the safety of the centre, and also provide a social space for isolated parents to either relax, cook a meal or sit with other like-minded parents going through a similar trauma, in our comfortable lounge, kitchen & dining space next to their rooms.
This funding will make such a fantastic difference to hundreds of families who rely on the Archie Family Centre each year. We are deeply appreciative of The Graham Trust’s confidence in our work, and their continued commitment to supporting children’s health and wellbeing here in Aberdeen and across the North of Scotland.
