The Neonatal Unit at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital cares for premature and sick babies. Charitable support for neonatal care in Aberdeen pre-dates the Neonatal Unit itself.
In 1983 a small group of parents got together with the aim of thanking the doctors and nurses at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital whose skills had helped their little ones survive.

Having a baby is a life changing experience.
If you do find yourself and your baby in the Neonatal Unit it most probably means that your little bundle has been born too early or too sick and, no matter the outcome, there will be challenging times ahead.
Many families spend a few days with their baby in the Unit, while other babies need specialist care for longer and it becomes their second home.
As well as fundraising to buy life-saving equipment for the Neonatal Unit we aim to support the families who use it, by providing practical information to help families know what to expect when they arrive together with support and resources when they are in the Unit.
The Archie Foundation is proud to partner with NHS Grampian to help deliver the difference at the new Baird Family Hospital in Aberdeen.
Works began on the build in January of 2021 with a target completion date of December 2023.
We aim to raise £2million to fund the vital finishing touches and additional specialist equipment that will transform this clinically state-of-the-art hospital into a world-class facility. Experience tells us that ARCHIE’s support will make the world of difference to the babies and families cared for at The Baird.
