Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2024

Archie had a total of 10 runners representing us down south last month at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. Some running the half marathon, and others running the full distance, they all went out and smashed it, even if the weather wasn’t always on their side. With torrential rain following the half marathoners all the way around the course, Archie’s own Fundraising Manager Cassie, who took part too, said it was so wet it was comical. Having suffered a sore knee in training she decided to go for it anyway and when asked about it, she explained that it was so wet, that it took their mind off everything else. “We were just thinking this couldn’t be real. We’d done all this training for such a long amount of time, for the day to be a complete wash out”.

Luckily, the weather didn’t dampen any Archie runners spirits and many of them said their reasons for taking part helped them push on through the rain. We’d like to offer a HUGE well done to all of our runners who took part in races in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. It really is such an achievement and we’re so grateful that so far, as a collective, you’ve raised over £14,000!
