Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust 2025 Funding

The Archie Foundation is delighted to announce the continued partnership with Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust, who have provided funding towards Archie’s Child Bereavement Service Activity Days.

Bereaved children often feel isolated, particularly as they may not know anyone their age who has experienced loss. Our Activity Days bring these children together in safe, supportive environments, helping them build friendships, reduce feelings of isolation, and find comfort in knowing they are not alone.

These sessions are completely free, ensuring accessibility for all families regardless of background. Activities are designed to be fun, engaging, and confidence-building, with examples including ice-skating, pizza making, festive parties, and visits from the Critter Keeper with exotic animals. While children take part, parents and carers are invited to share experiences over coffee, with staff and volunteers on hand to offer advice or guidance.

The Activity Days were developed to create opportunities for their children to meet peers with similar experiences. Parents and carers tell us that bereaved children often feel different from classmates and may feel distress when peers talk about family life. These days create a safe space where children are understood, supported, and able to just be themselves. We currently have over 350 families on our mailing list for these sessions, and many lifelong friendships have been formed. With this funding, we will deliver more Activity Days, reaching many families in need of comfort, connection, and hope.
